How many pellets per hour?

A pellet smoker burns roughly 0.5-1 lb/hr at 225°F and 1.5-2+ lb/hr at high heat. Cold, windy days push that higher. A long brisket cook can easily use 8-12 lbs.

Keep pellets dry

Wet or swollen pellets jam augers and burn poorly. Store them in a sealed, dry bin — it's the #1 cause of temperature problems and auger errors.
